SENEC unveils new home batteries and enhanced energy management platform

0

German energy storage specialist SENEC has expanded its residential energy portfolio with two new battery storage systems while upgrading its Powerpilot home energy management platform to support a broader range of connected devices.

The latest version of Powerpilot can now integrate more than 700 devices, including solar PV systems, battery storage units, heat pumps, EV chargers and smart home appliances. The platform operates locally within the home, while customer energy data is stored on European servers.

Alongside the software update, SENEC has introduced the Storage Wall 1, a wall-mounted lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery manufactured in Germany by Varta. The modular system is available in 9 kWh, 13.5 kWh and 18 kWh configurations, with the option to expand capacity over time.

The company has also announced the Storage Tower 1, a scalable battery solution designed for households with higher energy demands. Commercial deliveries are expected to begin in early 2027.

Existing Home P4 and Home E4 battery systems have also received new software capabilities, including forecast-based charging and support for dynamic electricity tariffs, enabling homeowners to better optimise energy consumption based on weather forecasts and real-time electricity prices.

Both new storage systems are fully integrated with SENEC’s upgraded Home Energy Management System (HEMS), reflecting the growing trend toward AI-driven platforms that coordinate solar generation, battery storage and household energy consumption to maximise efficiency and reduce electricity costs.
