Emaldo partners with Flower to expand battery flexibility services in Sweden

0

Energy technology company Emaldo has partnered with Swedish flexibility specialist Flower to give residential and commercial battery owners access to a wider range of energy trading and grid services.

The collaboration enables Emaldo customers in Sweden to participate in Flower’s energy optimisation platform, allowing battery systems to generate additional revenue through ancillary services and flexibility markets while supporting grid stability.

Emaldo provides integrated battery storage solutions for homes and businesses, combining hardware with AI-powered energy management software and virtual power plant (VPP) capabilities. By connecting to Flower’s platform, customers will benefit from advanced optimisation across Nordic electricity markets, helping maximise the value of their energy assets as market volatility continues to increase.

The partnership reflects the growing importance of distributed energy resources in Europe’s energy transition. As renewable generation expands, batteries are increasingly being used not only for self-consumption but also to balance electricity supply and demand by responding to real-time market signals.

According to Emaldo, participation in ancillary service and energy trading markets already generates more than €1 million in monthly customer payouts, depending on market conditions.

Chief Product Officer Alasdair Firth said the partnership strengthens Emaldo’s energy services by combining its connected energy ecosystem with Flower’s optimisation expertise, creating greater long-term value for customers.

Flower CEO John Diklev added that residential and commercial battery systems will play an increasingly important role in providing flexible capacity to electricity networks, helping improve grid stability while creating new revenue opportunities for asset owners.

The agreement further reinforces the trend toward AI-driven virtual power plants, where thousands of distributed batteries can be coordinated to support increasingly renewable electricity systems across Europe.
